The Democratic Republic of the Congo is taking a historic step toward establishing its first stock exchange. Discover what the Kinshasa Stock Exchange means for investors, businesses, and the future of the Congolese economy.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is moving closer to establishing its first national stock exchange,
marking an important milestone in the country's financial and economic development.
On June 18, 2026, the Government of the DRC and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group,
signed a partnership agreement to support the creation of the Kinshasa Stock Exchange (KSE).
The initiative aims to strengthen the country's capital market, improve access to financing for businesses,
and attract both domestic and international investors.
Once operational, the Kinshasa Stock Exchange is expected to provide new opportunities for companies in key sectors such as mining,
agriculture, energy, telecommunications, banking, and infrastructure. By offering an alternative source of financing,
the exchange could encourage business growth, promote corporate transparency, and support long-term economic development.
Although the exchange is still under development, this initiative demonstrates the DRC's commitment to modernizing its financial
system and creating a more attractive investment environment.
TAIWA will continue to monitor this important development and share updates on initiatives that strengthen economic
cooperation and investment opportunities between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Japan.
